My current mini cleanse

So I've started a new mini cleanse that began on Easter Sunday. A cleanse from time to time is beneficial for me and always makes me feel fantastic. On the other hand every time I do a cleanse I get further and further away from my so called comfort foods ( which is a good thing). Food should be considered nourishment and used to keep the body in great condition.  Too many times we abuse the use of food, for example until I made myself aware of when and why I eat I in the past ate because I was bored.  We all have things and until we make a conscience effort to work on it, it can consume us and get us to a place and we wonder what happened.

Each time I do a cleanse foods get eliminated, but that is my goal! My goal is to eat what I call God created foods, foods if I choose I don't have to cook. I am pretty much there, because recently chips have been eliminated, because I realized they were not making me feel good, it's like they zapped my energy away.

The cleaner my foods, the better I feel and this will also keep me in a constant detox state getting rid of toxins before they have time to set up shop and cause something else.

My cleanse so far for the past four days has consisted of:

Veggie juices
Fruit juices
Fruit as a meal (ex. lots of oranges til full)
BIG salads
Smoothies
Walnuts
and LOTS of exercise (walking, running, yoga, pilates, biking, weights)
I feel better when I exercise daily it's relaxing for me :)

Cleansing/Fasting

So today is my second day of eating God created foods, meaning no processed foods. The more God food I have the better I feel. Finding what helps my body work at its best feels great.

There is a cleanse for America that started today, so check it out at cleanseamerica.com. Being aware of great health is what I promote :)

As we cleanse our bodies, our bodies desire more good and healthy foods, which make us feel energized. Living foods give life and processed foods give sickness and disease.  If something can sit on a shelf for 6 months or longer, Is there any life left in it?, Does it give any nutrients to the body?

Cleansing/Fasting is just that a cleanse for our body inside that will radiate to the outer body. When fasting you go into a cleaning process and to put bad foods back in stops that process or retoxifies the body. Most cleanses take an average of three days to start feeling positive differences, so three days is just the beginning, don't give up-the food in the world won't disappear just because you are fasting :) (Even though it feels that way-it won't)

Let's ask ourselves, why do we eat what we eat? are we really hungry? are we just trying to fill time?

Once you cleanse, don't jump back into your previous eating habits immediately, slowly transition. Your body can't handle heavy foods, especially dairy right after a cleanse, have a big salad, a vegetable soup or continue with healthy foods. Depending on how long you have fasted or cleansed will determine your transition process, google for more information and do what's best for you. Just be careful :)

Love yourself!

There are things we have done to ourselves that cannot be undone overnight or with a quick fix.  When we make a decision to do something good for ourselves, each good step is a step in the right direction.  Results are not always seen right away, but give it time, love the journey you are on and love yourself in the process.

In a world that relies on quick fixes, be it in meals, weight loss, hair growth and sooooo many other things, we must be patient with ourselves and not compare who we are to the next person. We are all created to do something different and if we don't do what we need to who will. You are who you are and when you find an area you need to grow in - work on it and be aware of the progress you make from day to day!

Love your neighbor as yourself, but first you have to love you in the process.
Have a great day - look in the mirror and say "I LOVE YOU"  (smile as well and believe it!)

Exercise! Exercise! Exercise!

Exercise or shall I say movement is so important for our bodies.  Today I started my day with a workout at the local YMCA, I was having serious exercise withdrawal symptoms, after not exercising for two weeks.  Movement is part of me and is one of the things that keeps me balanced in my health journey.  A little a day, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 45 minutes or any time you have is beneficial. Never think that you have to have a gym membership or have to be outside to move your body.

For example:
Do a few jumping jacks
Act like your jumping rope (you don't need a rope to pretend)
Some push ups (even if they're girl push ups) or you can do them off the wall or kitchen counter
A few squats before you actually sit on the couch or the toilet - LOL
Dance as you clean (This definitely makes cleaning more fun)
Exercise during the commercials as you watch TV

Any movement consistently done will benefit your body, just start! :)

Make it fun
